“車載蓄電池”怎么說？

8月11日下午，一列從浦東國際機場始發(fā)的磁懸浮列車，在駛抵龍陽路車站時，其中一節(jié)車廂起火。好在消防人員及時趕赴現(xiàn)場，并無大的人員傷亡。經(jīng)初步分析，車載蓄電池故障導(dǎo)致此次火警事故的可能性較大。

battery has been identified as the possible cause of the fire
that broke out on Shanghai's magnetic levitation (maglev) train on August 11.
Investigations conducted by Chinese and German technical experts show that
the mainframe and parts of the carriage damaged by the fire were，"basically in
good condition," according to a spokesman with the Shanghai Maglev
Transportation Development Company.
翻譯“車載蓄電池”，其難點在于“車載”，報道中的onboard（storage
battery）恰到好處地表達了“車載”的含義。Board常用來指“搭乘交通工具”，如We went on board the
ship.（我們登上了輪船）；He boarded the bus.（他上了公共汽車）。相應(yīng)的，onboard則用來形容“在車上，隨車攜帶的”。
另外，再順便提兩個詞組：（fall）overboard指“從船上落入水中”，如：A man
overboard!（有人落水!）；若看到off-board，千萬別以為和交通工具有關(guān)，off-board常用于股票市場，指“場外的”，如：an
off-board transaction.（場外交易）。
