“召回”（問題電池）

日本索尼公司可謂是連連受挫，從即日起，IBM和聯(lián)想將在全球范圍內(nèi)召回共52.6萬塊筆記本問題電池，這是近期內(nèi)索尼問題鋰電池第四次大規(guī)模召回事件。看來，“日本制造”的質(zhì)量金字招牌可謂漸行漸遠(yuǎn)。

產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量不合格，廠家若要收回進(jìn)行再修理，可用單詞“recall”，其相應(yīng)的英文釋義是：“A request by the manufacturer of
a product that has been identified as defective to return it”（制造商收回問題產(chǎn)品）。看例句：The
car was recalled for possible safety defects.（汽車因可能存在的安全缺陷被召。）
與“收回、召回”不同，日前針對(duì)SK-II問題化妝品，客戶的“退貨”需用單詞“refund”。
另外，recall除了常用義“回憶、回想”，也可用來形容“取消（命令）”、“召回（大使）”，如：recall
a decision（撤銷裁定）；recall sb. from abroad（把某人從國(guó)外召回）。
