在這部電影里，我們可以用一個確切的短語來表示 Mrs. Robinson對本的追求和兩人之間的關(guān)系: To rob the
cradle 或者說Mrs. Robinson robbed the cradle.
這個俚語形容年紀(jì)較大的人追求年紀(jì)相差較大或很年輕的異性，與其談戀愛或結(jié)婚。中文里老夫少妻和老妻少夫說的就是這個意思。但平時也可以當(dāng)作一種夸張的，玩笑的說法。如：A
forth-year boy is dating a freshman girl. He has robbed the
cradle.一個大四的男生與一個一年的女生談戀愛。簡直是老少配嘛。
Mrs. Robinson對本的引誘進(jìn)入了是步步緊逼，不由分說的階段。而本則驚慌失措，倉惶躲閃。可以說是驚心動魄。幾個回合下來，Mrs.
Robinson愈發(fā)成竹在胸，勢在必得。如果不是Mr. Robinson恰好趕回，后果是顯而易見的。
