國際象棋 Chess
Chess is a recreational and competitive game played between two players，it is believed to have originated in ancient India, the current form of the game emerged in Southern Europe during the second half of the 15th century. Today, chess is one of the world's most popular games.
The game is played on a square chessboard with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight square. At the start, each player (one controlling the white pieces, the other controlling the black pieces) controls sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The object of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king, whereby the king is under immediate attack (in "check") and there is no way to remove it from attack on the next move.
Chess made its Asian Games debut in 15th Asian Games, Doha, in 2006.
國際象棋是世界上最古老的搏斗游戲之一，與中國的象棋、圍棋，日本的將棋同享盛名。一般認(rèn)為國際象棋起源于印度，后傳入其他國家。2006年第十五屆亞運會（多哈）國際象棋成為亞運會正式比賽項目。
國際象棋棋盤是個正方形，由橫縱各８格、顏色一深一淺交錯排列的64個小方格組成。深色格稱黑格，淺色格稱白格，棋子就放在這些格子中移動。棋子共三十二個，分為黑白兩組，各十六個，由對弈雙方各執(zhí)一組，兵種是一樣的，分為六種：王(1)、后(1)、車(2)、象(2)、馬(2)、兵(8)。
在正式比賽中，國際象棋棋子采用立體棋子。
