Friend Zone is a platonic friendship between two people one of whom wants the relationship to be romantic. You could fall into Friend Zone after you fail to impress the man or the woman you are attracted to.

“朋友區(qū)間”指的是兩個(gè)人之間的柏拉圖式的友誼，其中一個(gè)人希望能和對(duì)方發(fā)展出浪漫戀情。如果你沒(méi)能讓你喜歡的那個(gè)人對(duì)你傾心，那么你可能就會(huì)掉進(jìn)“朋友區(qū)間”。

Some people said that only women get to have platonic friends while a man would never enjoy Friend Zone. The ‘friend zone’ is like the penalty box of dating, only you can never get out. Once a girl decides you’re her ‘friend,’ it’s game over. You’ve become a complete non-sexual entity in her eyes, like her brother, or a lamp.

有些人認(rèn)為，只有女人才會(huì)有純友誼，而男人永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)喜歡待在“朋友區(qū)間”里。朋友區(qū)間就像約會(huì)中的受罰席，只不過(guò)你永遠(yuǎn)別想從受罰席離開(kāi)。一旦一個(gè)女孩決定要和你做普通朋友，游戲就結(jié)束了。你在她眼中就變成了完全無(wú)性別的個(gè)體，就像她哥哥，或一盞燈。

I spent all that money on a date, just to find out she put me in the Friend Zone.
