"Game of Thrones" and "The Marvelous Mrs Maisel" won the top prizes at the Emmy awards on Monday. HBO's medieval fantasy "Game of Thrones" won a total of nine Emmys, including technical awards for special effects and stunts, and was named best drama series for a third time, beating last year's champion "The Handmaid's Tale". Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs Maisel", about a 1950s housewife who turns to stand-up comedy, took home the Emmy for best comedy series. Mrs Maisel also won a total of seven other awards, including best actress for Rachel Brosnahan. Claire Foy won the best actress in a drama series for her quiet but formidable portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in "The Crown". Matthew Rhys took his first best drama actor Emmy for playing a conflicted Russian spy in the final season of "The Americans". One of the biggest shocks of the night came when presumed front-runner "Atlanta" actor Donald Glover lost the comedy acting category to "Barry" star Bill Hader. The warmest applause came when Glenn Weiss used his acceptance speech for outstanding directing of a variety special to propose to his girlfriend in the audience, Jan Svendsen. She said yes.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is selling $13 billion of shares of his company to fund the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) in projects such as the Human Cell Atlas and Biohub. The goal is to cure, prevent or manage all diseases "in our children's lifetime," the report said. CZI was founded by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan. Facebook has faced challenges this past year including reports that Cambridge Analytica used the social media company to manipulate voter behavior.

Coca-Cola is considering producing a cannabis-infused drink that would help people with chronic pain. The US drinks giant said it was "closely watching" the development of the cannabis industry and looking into a possible "functional wellness beverage". The potential product would include as an ingredient CBD, or cannabidiol(大麻二酚), a non-psychoactive component in cannabis. CBD is used by many people for medical reasons including to counter chronic pain and inflammation, anxiety and epilepsy(癲癇). The product would not include THC, the main, high-inducing active ingredient in cannabis.
