This is the future of air travel according to Japanese company First Airlines, which has harnessed the power of virtual reality to create dream vacations. Passengers avoid the costly airport transfer, the baggage fees or busy airport terminal - and instead enjoy the perks of business or first-class travel and a luxurious tour of Paris - all while remaining stationary in Tokyo. As well as the City of Light, First Airlines also offers the virtual destinations of New York, Rome and Hawaii.

If you're good at games, you might also be good at everything else. That's according to a new study that found two of the world's most popular video games act like IQ tests. Those who are the best at them also get the highest scores on traditional intelligence tests, suggesting that video games might actually make you smarter. Both games – "League of Legends" and "Defence of the Ancients 2" – combine strategic thinking with quick reactions, and so could both reward and train up particular kinds of thinking. That seemed to be confirmed by the study, which compared people's levels of skill in the games with their IQ. The better people were at playing, the more their intelligence score, it found. A similar study that looked at chess suggested that more conventional games are good markers of intelligence, too.

Researchers from Florida State University followed 233 newly married couples for three-and-a-half years and documented intimate details about their relationships, including marital satisfaction, long-term commitment, whether they had engaged in infidelity and if they were still together. They discovered that women who considered themselves attractive were far more likely to be faithful. They also found that women who had been more promiscuous in the years before their marriage were less likely to cheat. In contrast, less-attractive females who had limited sexual experience were more likely to engage in extra-marital entanglements. Writing in the "Journal of Personality and Social Psychology" lead author Jim McNulty said: "Specifically, own attractiveness was negatively associated with infidelity among women, suggesting that less attractive women were more likely to engage in infidelity.

Two of the habits that helped preserve lives the most? Drinking alcohol and coffee. Yes, you read that right - those who drank moderate amounts of alcohol or coffee every day were likely to live longer than those who abstained. Those who consumed about two glasses daily of beer or wine were 18% more likely to live longer, while coffee drinkers were 10% more likely to outlive their peers. "Wine and coffee are packed with antioxidants which are known to protect our bodies from damage caused by free radicals," said registered dietitian Keri Gans. "Research on antioxidants has shown several health benefits, including the possibility they may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, improve cognitive function, decrease risk of dementia, and lower the risk of heart disease."
