>Wetland protection law takes effect
我國首部濕地保護(hù)法正式施行

China's new law on wetland protection took effect on Wednesday. According to the law, the country will exercise the administration of wetlands at different levels, and significant wetland areas should fall under conservation red lines.
中華人民共和國濕地保護(hù)法6月1日起正式施行，標(biāo)志著我國濕地保護(hù)工作全面進(jìn)入法治化軌道的新階段。國家對(duì)濕地實(shí)行分級(jí)管理，重要濕地依法納入生態(tài)保護(hù)紅線。

The new law will help encourage reasonable utilization of wetlands and ensure sound ecosystems to unify economic, social and ecological benefits, said Yang Zhaoxia, head of the ecological law research center at Beijing Forestry University.
北京林業(yè)大學(xué)生態(tài)法研究中心主任楊朝霞表示，貫徹實(shí)施這部法律，有利于引導(dǎo)和規(guī)范濕地的合理利用，保障濕地生態(tài)良好和永續(xù)利用，實(shí)現(xiàn)經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)、生態(tài)三大效益相統(tǒng)一。

兩部門: 促進(jìn)高校哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)高質(zhì)量發(fā)展

China has released a medium- and long-term action plan to promote the high-quality development of philosophy and the social sciences in the country's higher education system and build an independent knowledge base to better answer questions. The plan was jointly released by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Ministry of Education and calls for using the CPC's theories to guide various disciplines, carrying forward Chinese culture and enhancing the capabilities of academic circles to communicate with the general public and the international community.
近日，中共中央宣傳部、教育部聯(lián)合印發(fā)《面向2035高校哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)高質(zhì)量發(fā)展行動(dòng)計(jì)劃》（以下簡(jiǎn)稱《行動(dòng)計(jì)劃》），圍繞建構(gòu)中國自主的知識(shí)體系，更好回答中國之問、世界之問、人民之問、時(shí)代之問，對(duì)高校哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)事業(yè)高質(zhì)量發(fā)展作出中長期規(guī)劃。
《行動(dòng)計(jì)劃》強(qiáng)調(diào)，要以育人育才為中心，將黨的創(chuàng)新理論引領(lǐng)貫穿中國特色哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)各學(xué)科知識(shí)體系，傳承發(fā)展中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化，推進(jìn)學(xué)術(shù)話語的大眾傳播，強(qiáng)化中國話語的國際傳播。

His government is proposing a new law that would freeze private ownership of all short-barreled firearms.

The legislation would not ban the ownership of handguns outright, but would make it illegal to buy them.

Trudeau's proposal comes days after a deadly shooting at a Texas primary school in the neighboring US, which killed 21 people.

"Other than using firearms for sport shooting and hunting, there is no reason anyone in Canada should need guns in their everyday lives," Trudeau told reporters.
