The world's billionaires, with a personal wealth of at least $1 billion, reported the biggest slump on record last year, with the total number down by 8 percent, to 3,112, according to the Hurun Global Rich List 2023 released on Thursday.
《2023年胡潤全球富豪榜》23日新鮮出爐，結(jié)果顯示，去年全球個人財富達到至少10億美元的億萬富翁人數(shù)出現(xiàn)了自記錄以來的最大跌幅，下降了8%，至3112位。

The combined wealth of these billionaires also shrank 10 percent year-on-year, to $13.7 trillion.

Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, said such drastic contraction can be largely attributed to the sluggish performance of the stock market last year, which was a combined result of interest rate hikes, the appreciation of the US dollar, the popping of a COVID-driven tech bubble, and the continued impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

That can be largely attributed to LVMH's record high business results last year, with its sales revenue up 23 percent year-on-year to 79.2 billion euros, and profits up 22 percent from a year earlier, to 21.1 billion euros.

> China adds 1,336 traditional villages to state protection list

China has added 1,336 traditional villages to the state protection list amid efforts to promote heritage conservation, according to a notice from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
根據(jù)《住房和城鄉(xiāng)建設(shè)部辦公廳關(guān)于實施中國傳統(tǒng)村落掛牌保護工作的通知》要求，1336個村落列入中國傳統(tǒng)村落名錄，以促進遺產(chǎn)保護。

The ministry, along with five other government organs, has so far brought a total of 8,155 traditional villages under state protection in six batches.
住房和城鄉(xiāng)建設(shè)部等六部門近日公布第六批列入中國傳統(tǒng)村落名錄的村落名單。至此，全國已有8155個傳統(tǒng)村落列入國家級保護名錄。

The ministry urged the localities to establish and improve the archives of traditional villages, and guide the villages to draw up plans to strengthen the protection and utilization of the villages, according to the notice.
通知指出，各地要按照“一村一檔”建立完善中國傳統(tǒng)村落檔案，要指導(dǎo)列入名錄的傳統(tǒng)村落編制保護利用規(guī)劃或方案。

China launched the survey of traditional villages in 2012.

Thanks to years of continuous effort, by 2020, the country had successfully brought 539,000 historic buildings and traditional dwellings under protection, and inherited and developed 4,789 items of intangible cultural heritage at or above the provincial level.
