 KFC烤雞 vs 全聚德烤鴨 [ 2008-03-26 14:00 ]
幾周后在美國(guó)一些城市，哈蘭?山德士上校60多年前秘制的肯德基炸雞（KFC）將不再是肯德基連鎖快餐店唯一的主打食品，肯德基烤雞（KGC）將與其平分秋色甚至取而代之。

US restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken said Monday it was conducting market tests of grilled chicken menu options for diners who prefer not to eat fried food. The grilled chicken menu options will contain less calories and fat than KFC's comparable fried chicken meals.
美國(guó)餐飲連鎖肯德基本周一表示他們?yōu)椴粣鄢杂驼ㄊ称返念櫩吞峁┑目倦u食品菜單目前正處于市場(chǎng)測(cè)驗(yàn)階段。與現(xiàn)有的肯德基炸雞食品相比，烤雞食品所含的熱量和脂肪都要少一些。
跟北京最具特色的全聚德烤鴨roast duck不同，肯德雞的“烤雞”譯成grilled chicken。Roast 意思是“to cook with dry heat, as in an oven or near hot coals （烘烤，如放在烤箱里或熱煤附近通過干熱烘烤），而grill 是to broil on a gridiron（燒烤，放在烤架上烤）。雖然都是“烤”，但工具有所不同哦。
grill 做動(dòng)詞時(shí)，有“燒烤，嚴(yán)加拷問”的意思；作為名詞時(shí)是“燒烤店，烤架”等意思。
例如：
He spent the summer buss table in a downtown grill.
整個(gè)夏季，他都在城里一個(gè)燒烤店幫忙清理餐桌。
The police grilled him (with non-stop questions) for over an hour.
警方（以連串的問題）盤問了他一個(gè)多小時(shí).
