很多人都說網絡交友不靠譜，主要是因為大家在網絡上交流的時候，可能多少都會對自己的真實情況有所隱瞞，有時甚至會過度美化自己以吸引他人注意。這種行為在英語里叫catfishing。
Catfishing is the practice of lying about yourself in an online environment, usually with the elaborate fabrication of an online identity, in order to impress others, especially to trick someone into a relationship.
Catfishing指在網絡環(huán)境中對自己的情況有所隱瞞，通常精心編造一個優(yōu)質的網絡身份，目的是為了給他人留下深刻印象，尤其是為了吸引某人與其發(fā)展戀愛關系，我們可稱之為“網絡自夸”。
