Noting that safeguarding people's life and health is a major mission of the Party in governing the country, Xi stressed the need to strengthen areas of weakness and close the loopholes exposed by the current epidemic.
他強(qiáng)調(diào)，確保人民群眾生命安全和身體健康，是我們黨治國理政的一項(xiàng)重大任務(wù)。針對這次疫情暴露出來的短板和不足，抓緊補(bǔ)短板、堵漏洞、強(qiáng)弱項(xiàng)。

Xi said the current fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic is a major test of China's system and capacity for governance.
習(xí)近平在講話中指出，這次抗擊新冠肺炎疫情，是對國家治理體系和治理能力的一次大考。

Stressing the need to strengthen legislation on public health, Xi called for the assessment of revising laws and regulations concerning infectious disease prevention and treatment, as well as wildlife protection. He also highlighted speeding up establishing a law on biosecurity.
習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，要強(qiáng)化公共衛(wèi)生法治保障，全面加強(qiáng)和完善公共衛(wèi)生領(lǐng)域相關(guān)法律法規(guī)建設(shè)，認(rèn)真評估傳染病防治法、野生動(dòng)物保護(hù)法等法律法規(guī)的修改完善,要盡快推動(dòng)出臺(tái)生物安全法。

Xi urged reforming and improving the disease prevention and control system to prevent major outbreaks, strengthening primary-level capacity, and improving a coordinated system for major public health risk analysis, evaluation, decision-making, and prevention and control.
習(xí)近平指出，要改革完善疾病預(yù)防控制體系，加強(qiáng)農(nóng)村、社區(qū)等基層防控能力建設(shè)，完善公共衛(wèi)生重大風(fēng)險(xiǎn)研判、評估、決策、防控協(xié)同機(jī)制。

Xi stressed improving the mechanism for major epidemic emergency response, and enhancing the coordinated mechanism for scientific research, disease control and clinical treatment.
習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，要健全重大疫情應(yīng)急響應(yīng)機(jī)制，要健全科學(xué)研究、疾病控制、臨床治療的有效協(xié)同機(jī)制。

The system of treatment for major epidemics should also be improved, Xi said, encouraging the application of digital technologies including big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing in areas such as epidemic monitoring, tracing virus sources, epidemic prevention and treatment, and resource allocation.
健全優(yōu)化重大疫情救治體系，要鼓勵(lì)運(yùn)用大數(shù)據(jù)、人工智能、云計(jì)算等數(shù)字技術(shù)，在疫情監(jiān)測分析、病毒溯源、防控救治、資源調(diào)配等方面更好發(fā)揮支撐作用。

Xi called for improving the medical insurance and medical aid systems for major diseases and a unified system for providing emergency response supplies.
習(xí)近平指出，要健全重大疾病醫(yī)療保險(xiǎn)和救助制度，要健全統(tǒng)一的應(yīng)急物資保障體系。
